The new four-manual custom Allen Heritage console is shown ready for service in St. Gregory the Great Roman Catholic Church in Plantation Florida.
Imported Rosewood was selected for the keyboard and pedal sharps, along with rocker tabs and draw knobs. Ebony engraved pistons were chosen to contrast the maple interior wood and trim. Toe studs are of polished brass.
Final voicing of the organ was completed by concert artist Rudy Lucente.
Monsignor Fogerty requested that the organ be prepared for the addition of real wind blown pipe divisions, and a full Trumpet EnChamade. This beautiful instrument has already been prepared to do just that. At any time in the future...pipes can be added as a second phase of the organ project.
Mr. Lucente performs regularly on the worlds largest pipe organ at Wanamkers in Philadelphia. He has also performed for Pope John Paul II. His experience and knowledge of perfect organ tone is invaluable when tonally finishing each voice of a new Allen organ installation. It requires a monumental amount of artistic time to bring an organ of this size to tonal perfection. It is truly a marriage of organ to building, and no two are ever alike.
